SmartOffice Access uses Sangoma’s UC Cloud and phone system integration to leverage user credential information for auto-provisioning and user management, over the SmartOffice Cloud service. On-site IoT devices control door entry and deliver status information back to mobile app users.

The SmartOffice Solution is Comprised of Four Components

The SmartOffice Manager
Controls user permissions and license management. Available as a hardware appliance or as a software module for FreePBX/PBXact on-premise systems.
The SmartOffice Cloud Service

Control the locking and unlocking of doors from your mobile device.

The SmartOffice Mobile App

Enables users to securely unlock and lock doors, wherever they are, using their cellular or WiFI connection.

Hardware Components

SmartOffice includes all the components necessary to control your office doors from the mobile app.

Purchase and Installation

Your Administrator will:

  • Deploy the SmartOffice Manager on-site. 
  • Register the SmartOffice Manager with the Sangoma Cloud Service, which enables the use of your on-premise or cloud Sangoma Phone system’s user directory as well as authenticates it for future hardware or user additions or changes.

The Clouds Service registers the SmartOffice Manager with AWS (Amazon Web Services) so that the mobile app is able to communication with it to lock/unlock doors (since the SmartOffice Manager is not exposed to public internet)

User Setup

  • Your administrator adds users to the SmartOffice Manager, using existing user directory information, which also enables security mechanisms for each with the Sangoma Cloud Service
  • Users receive an Invitation Email on mobile device, which includes iOS/Android SmartOffice app download links, and then automatically logs users into their individual accounts.

Gateway Setup

  • Your Administrator connects the SmartOffice Gateway to the corporate LAN.
  • They open the SmartOffice app on their mobile, create a location and adds the gateway by scanning Gateway QR Code.
  • The gateway serial number is then verified with the SmartOffice Manager and Sangoma Cloud Service for security authentication validate.
  • After validation, the Cloud Service returns the SmartOffice Gateway IP Address (private) that that phone system can use to communicate with.

Mobile User Operation

  • Users receive an Invitation Email on mobile device, which includes iOS/Android SmartOffice app download links, and then automatically logs users into their individual accounts.
  • The Cloud Service validates the user, then allows the mobile to communicate with the SmartOffice Manager.
  • The SmartOffice Manager sends the request to the SmartOffice Gateway, over the corporate LAN, to unlock the particular door which the user user unlocked.
  • Communication to/from doors and sensors is over Zigbee wireless protocol.
  • The gateway sends status information to the SmartOffice Manager, which then sends through the Cloud service to the mobile app.
