Sangoma’s Jeff Dworkin to Speak at ITEXPO Austin 2012 Technology Education Programs

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Oct. 1, 2012) – Sangoma Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE:STC), a leading provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance IP Communications Systems for both voice and data, announced that director of marketing Jeff Dworkin will speak at three educational sessions during the ITEXPO Austin 2012 Conference and Expo. The event will take place October 2-5, 2012 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

In the opening session of the conference, Dworkin will participate in a panel of industry experts to discuss the rapid adoption of open source technology in many commercial communications products. The session, “Open Source in the Mainstream,” will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, October 2. In his comments, he will discuss the intrinsic cost, time-to-market, and efficiency advantages that many product developers are seeing with the use of open source elements.

In the session, “Microsoft Lync: Separating Hype from Reality,” set for Tuesday, October 2 at 2:30pm, Dworkin will discuss practical methodologies that enterprises can use for deploying the Microsoft Lync unified communications solution. The session will focus on migration strategies that minimize workflow disruption and maximize resource utilization through the implementation gateway technologies.

“Enterprises are facing challenges on multiple fronts, from overcoming the economic climate, to managing rapid technology change,” noted Dworkin. “Adopting technology when and where it makes business sense is an important consideration for many businesses today. At Sangoma, we strongly advocate integrating new services and features at the edge of the network. This strategy will be the basis of many of my contributions to the technical program.”

Dworkin will round out his participation on Wednesday, October 3 when he joins the panel session “Enterprise SBC and UC Security Essentials,” which is slated for 10 am. During this session, he will illustrate the need for flexible SBC technology to interpret different implementations of SIP and other protocols to ensure seamless and secure interoperability.

“Jeff is a well-known expert in the VoIP and telecommunications fields, and we are very pleased that he will be sharing his knowledge and experience with our audience,” said Rich Tehrani, chief executive officer of Technology Marketing Corporation, the producer of ITEXPO. “We pride ourselves on providing a technical program that challenges the audience to think about the next step for business, technology, and the industry. Jeff is a dynamic speaker that never fails to grab the attention of the audience, and provide them with plenty of information and insight to consider as they chart the path for their business.”

In addition to contributing to the technical program at ITEXPO, Sangoma will highlight its broad portfolio of solutions that interconnect disparate networks and technologies for enterprises and service providers. Sangoma will be located at booth 601 throughout the exhibition.
