Mobile VAS is one of the hottest market segments in telephony today. In India, the market is expected to reach $11 billion USD by 2015. The world market is projected to reach $360 billion USD in that same time period. However, the creative combination of robust hardware from Sangoma and Open Source telephony environments, like Asterisk or FreeSWITCH, provides a rich and reasonably priced platform from which developers can create high-power applications for this lucrative market.
Attendees of this webinar will learn:
- How to use Sangoma gear to interface with the SS7 network

Wed., June 8 @ 2pm-3pm EST / 11am-12pm PST / 7pm-8pm BST
Ever since the first Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) platform was deployed over 20 years ago, there has been an ongoing debate regarding the “best” way to develop and deploy applications. Even today, the debate goes on with options to choose from such as Customers Premise Equipment (CPE), Hosted Solutions or placing apps in the Cloud. Developers must also consider Open Source alternatives (Asterisk/FreeSWITCH) and more traditional “C” based proprietary APIs. There is also the option to develop and deploy using an XML or Web 2.0 (Ruby, Ruby-On-Rails, Adhearson) type of environment. This webinar exams the pros and cons of many of these environments to help developers and operators choose the one that might be “right” for their particular need.
Specifically, the webinar will examine the following criteria for each environment:
- Scalability
- Reliability
- Ease-of-use and Options for Application Development
- Flexibility and Issues of Vendor Lock-in
- Deployment, Field Maintenance and Upgrade Issues
Presenters:
- Nenad Corbic, Vice President of Software Engineering, Sangoma Technologies
