Unified communications will need to evolve

Unified communications is likely to become a fundamental part of business operations, as contact centers and other sections of the business need to keep up with customer demands. In fact, unified communications will likely continue to make headlines throughout the year as nearly all information and communication technology-based predictions will incorporate the solutions into future-market trends, according to industry expert Paul Hooper in a Mobile News report.

"With the introduction of ICT solutions, customers are now not only benefiting from, but are demanding, single-point [unified communications] solutions," said Hooper, according to Mobile News. "My other prediction would be born out of a necessity that will see greater collaboration from business partners as the economic climate continues to grip our business community."

As a result, unified communications providers will be required to provide a more holistic approach to how organizations tackle everyday operations, Hooper continued. They will need to develop creative strategies that help improve business efficiency in the years to come.

Today, unified communications solutions can improve collaboration and presence in the workplace while integrating business processes into one cohesive platform. Still, they will need to evolve in order to remain high in demand in the future.
