The Grand Prize Winner of the contest, "How Has Sangoma Premium Telephony Hardware Helped You 'Performance Tune' Your Telephony System" is Aniruth Fagthong, Solution and Service Manager for Thailand-based Universal NetCom Solutions Co.,Ltd. He was flown to AsterConference in an all-expense paid trip, including spending money.

Contestants were asked to write, in 500 words or less, how and why they upgraded their "old" hardware to new Sangoma hardware in their system.

The winner was chosen for most innovative and creative story. Here is a summary of his award winning entry:

The challenge: to bring VoIP service to Thailand.

"To bring VoIP service to public, we needed the best call termination among VoIP, PSTN, and Mobile, and we needed the best hardware to interconnect via E1," explained Fagthong in his contest entry.

The performance and reliability of scalable and cost-effective Sangoma hardware did the job. Fagthong said before using Sangoma, he wouldn't have believed on open source platform could be used for a service-based telecom company.

"Before Mouthmun Touchdown VoIP service went online, the system has been tested with many different hardware solutions, but only Sangoma was trustworthy," Fangthong said.
